Sealants are a plastic material that Dr. Liu paints onto your teeth as a liquid which then dries hard. This is painless, there is no drilling or discomfort in applying. Dr. Liu applies this product to your back teeth, where food debris is known to settle making this area the most vulnerable to decay and cavities. We recommend this procedure for all of our patients who are children, our adult patients who have deeper grooves in their teeth, and our patients who may not be doing a sufficient job of brushing and flossing. Dental sealants offer that barrier between your tooth and bacteria thereby protecting your teeth.

We recommend sealants for all of our patients, but particularly:
All children should get dental sealants. Since children are still learning their daily oral care habits, sealants will protect their teeth while they do.
Adults who have deep grooves in their molars. Regular brushing alone may miss food particles in those grooves.
Adults of all ages who have continuous decay issues, saving and protecting your natural teeth are always our first goal.
Applying sealants is a quick, inexpensive, painless dental procedure that will reduce the chance of cavities. Dental sealants are strong and durable, they will last you several years.
